Chainsaw is a Dutch thrash metal band from Purmerend that was formed in 1996.
history
The band was formed in the summer of 1996. In the following years, the line-up of the band changed a lot, with members suddenly disappearing, dying in accidents or being seriously injured. As a result, the single Chainsaw Is the Law was first released in 2002 . Two years later, the band signed a contract with the Japanese label World Chaos Production to release their debut album Smell the Saw (a reference to Spın̈al Taps Smell the Glove ) there. After the music videos for Master of Fate and The Meat Factory were completed, Quinz joined the band as the new bass player. Various appearances followed in the Netherlands, Germany , Belgium , France and Luxembourg . In 2008 the band signed a deal with Meat Rackords and released their second album Metal Missionary in 2009 . A few years later, bassist Quinz was replaced by Tom. The band is currently working on their anniversary album 15 Years of Down the Meat Aisle .
