Chairestratos (potter)
Chairestratos (Χαιρέστρατος) was an ancient Attic potter around the year 500 BC. Chr.
No works can be assigned to Chairestratos; his name is only recorded in writing. He is mentioned in the Komastai of Phrynichos . It is one of the rare cases where names of craftsmen have been passed down in literature. The name also appears as a favorite inscription on vases of the Duris , but it is unclear whether the same person is hidden behind both traditions.
