Chananja ben Chakinai
Chananja ben Chakinai (also Chanina ben Chakinai , Hebrew חנינא בן חכינאי) was a Jewish scholar ( Tannait ) in the 2nd century in Palestine .
Hananiah lived with Rabbi Akiba for 12 or 13 years without any contact with his wife or family. He wrote various halachot and halachic midrashim . Michael Creizenach counts him among the ten martyrs .
