Chaonan
Chaonan ( Chinese 潮南区 , Pinyin Chaonan Qū ) is a Chinese district of the prefecture-level city Shantou ( Swatow ) in the province of Guangdong . The city district has an area of 596.42 km² and has around 1.18 million inhabitants (2003).

At the community level, the district consists of a street district and ten large communities.
