Chaoyang ( Chinese  潮阳区 , pinyin Chaoyang Qū ) is a Chinese district of the prefecture-level city Shantou ( Swatow ) in the province of Guangdong . The city district has an area of ​​667.6 km² and has around 1.54 million inhabitants (2003).
