Jinping ( Chinese  金平区 , pinyin Jinping Qū ) is a Chinese district of the prefecture-level city Shantou ( Swatow ) in the province of Guangdong . The city district has an area of ​​108.71 km² and has around 740,000 inhabitants (2003). It is the center and seat of Shantou's municipal government.
