from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Chapell House is the name of a villa in the Scottish town of Barrhead in the council area of East Renfrewshire . In 1971 the building was added to the Scottish List of Monuments in Category B. The associated stables to the east are also listed as individual monuments in category B. A monument ensemble does not exist.

Chapell House

The core of Chapell House probably dates from 1757. Around 1800 extensions were added. The villa is two-story and has a converted attic. An exception is the wing that branches off to the west, which is only one-story. The entrance area is framed by pillars . The windows are decorated with fascias and the building edges are decorated with corner stones. All facades are plastered with Harl in the traditional style of western Scotland .

stables

The stables are located a few meters east of the main building and are connected to it by an enclosure wall. They have a square floor plan, with an inner courtyard being enclosed on three sides by buildings and on the rear by a wall. This is accessible from the north through an arched doorway. The gateway is decorated and crowned with a triangular gable.
