Charitaios
Charitaios was a Greek potter, active around 540-530 BC. In Athens .
He signed two rim shells , Rome, Museo Torlonia and Paris, Louvre Cp10260. He is one of the little masters .
The reading of the inscription on a hydria in Reading (Berks County, Pennsylvania) , Public Museum 32.769.1 (formerly New York, Charles W. Gould collection) is uncertain, the name could have been written here as Carithaios . After this vase, John D. Beazley named the Karithaios painter , to whom two other hydrates can be assigned.
