Charles Bridoux

Charles Bridoux (born January 21, 1942 in Paris , † February 20, 2003 ibid) was a French illustrator and was best known as a stamp artist.

At the age of 15 he attended the École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs de Paris , where he was taught by the sculptor Étienne Martin , among others .

In 1975 he designed his first stamp for the international stamp exhibition ARPHILA '75 in Paris. He then worked for the French overseas development department Bureau d'études des postes et télécommunications d'outre-mer (BEPTOM) , which was followed by orders for French Polynesia, Mali, Cameroon, St. Pierre & Miquelon, Niger, etc.

He also issued a series of stamps for PHILEXFRANCE '99, for which he received the Great Gold Medal, his highest award among many other awards in this field.

He was also a philatelist and a member of the French Académie de philatélie from 1979 to 2003.
