Julius Heinrich Schwarze (* around 1706 in Dresden ; † October 21, 1775 there ) was a German builder . The " Dresden Rococo " reached its climax with blacks .

Life

After the death of his teacher Johann Christoph Knöffel in 1752 he became chief architect in the service of the Electors of Saxony and created numerous buildings within the electorate , for example, according to Fritz Löffler, probably the Palais Vitzthum-Schönburg and the Palais Moszinska and especially the Coselpalais in Dresden .

He was also personally involved in the extension of the Taschenbergpalais and the completion of the Catholic Court Church in Dresden, in the reconstruction of the city of Suhl, which was destroyed by fire (cracks for the office building to be built and the town hall, 1754) and in the construction of the Elbe bridge in Torgau . The first plans for the demolition of the Dresden fortifications come from Schwarze in 1760 , but these were not implemented for military reasons. Because of his progressive blindness he gave up his activity in 1763.
