Charles Guyette

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Charles Guyette (born August 14, 1902 , † June 1976 ) is considered the American pioneer of fetish fashion since the 1930s. He developed costumes and staged them in photos. He also designed corsets , high-heeled boots and shoes. His designs at the time were considered scandalous. In 1935 he was accused of profanity and sentenced to prison; released after a year, he continued to work under pseudonyms. His work from the 1930s to 1960s is seen as the basis for modern fetish clothing.
