Charles M. Reigeluth

Charles Morgan Reigeluth (born December 31, 1946 ) is an educational researcher from the United States whose research focuses on theories of instruction design .

Career

Reigeluth graduated from Harvard University in 1969 with a Bachelor of Arts degree (cum laude). He then worked as a teacher at a high school , teaching economics and science. In 1977 Reigeluth received his doctorate ( Ph.D. ) from Brigham Young University with a thesis in educational psychology (Instructional Psychology). He then worked as a research associate at Brigham Young University until he received an assistant professorship at Syracuse University in 1979 . From 1982 Reigeluth was a full professor at Syracuse University. In 1988 he moved to Indiana University Bloomington as a professor and was retired there in 2013 .

"Due to frustration with my own schooling, I decided when I was 16 years old to devote my career to helping make education a lot more motivating, effective, and efficient. So I became a high school teacher for a while and then a university researcher.

Because I was frustrated with my own school experiences, at the age of 16 I decided to dedicate my career to making education more motivating, effective and efficient. So I became a brief teacher at a high school and later a researcher at the university. "
