Charles Paillasson
Charles Paillasson (* 1718 ; † 1789 ) was a French man of letters, calligrapher and encyclopedist .
Live and act
Paillason was born in 1718 as the son of a writer. He was a student of Louis Rossignol (1694-1739) and taught from 1738 to his art in a boarding school in Clamart . In 1756 he became a member of the Communauté des maîtres écrivains . From 1754 he lived in Paris on rue des Fosses Saint-Germain l'Auxerrois . In an effort to improve the reputation of calligraphy in France, he became a member of several Paris academies. Louis XV appointed him in 178 its first secretary, Premier secrétaire du Cabinet du roi . He wrote articles for the Encyclopédie by Denis Diderot and Jean Baptiste le Rond d'Alembert .
