Charles Röthlisberger

Charles Röthlisberger (born April 16, 1939 , † December 11, 2010 in Arlesheim ) was a Swiss insurance manager and sports official.

From 1970, Röthlisberger worked for the insurance company Bâloise as head of the back office in Basel . He was appointed general agent in Reinach in 1982 and regional director of the Northwestern Switzerland branch in 1995 . From 2004 until his retirement in 2007, Röthlisberger was Relation Manager at Baloise.

Sports official

From 1987 to 1992 Röthlisberger was president of the football club FC Basel , which was relegated to the National League B in 1988 . Röthlisberger was committed to the financial consolidation of the football club and laid the foundation for later sporting success. He was an honorary member of FC Basel.

Private

Röthlisberger was married and the father of two children. He was a member of Rotary International .
