Charlotte Köhler Prize

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Charlotte Köhler Prize (Dutch: Charlotte Köhler Prijs ) is a Dutch literary prize that has been awarded every three years by the Charlotte Köhler Foundation (Stichting Charlotte Kohler) since 1988.

The foundation is under the patronage of the Association of Literary Studies (Vereniging van Letterkundigen). The award is named after the actress and lecturer Charlotte Köhler (actress) (1892–1976). It is awarded alternately for the categories prose, poetry and theater.

For a long time, the prize money amounted to 18,000 euros (from 1988 to 1993: 25,000 guilders ; 1998: 40,000 guilders). It will be paid for from the estate of Charlotte Köhler. In 2017, the endowment was 15,000 euros.

The Charlotte Köhler Foundation also donates the annual Charlotte Köhler Scholarship for young authors.
