from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Charlotte Chucky Tate is an American personality psychologist . She is a professor at the University of San Francisco and describes herself as a "male presented" trans woman who is lesbian- oriented.

identity

Charlotte appears as a personality who is viewed by society as masculine and is accordingly classified, although she feels herself to be a woman based on her gender identity . She describes herself as a trans woman because her body was classified as male at birth and she doesn't feel like a man. In some publications, she appears as Charlotte Chuck / y Tate or Chuck Tate to represent multiple identities. She would like to be visible as a woman, transgender and butch lesbian (“male”-looking lesbian woman) at the same time.

Training and research

Charlotte Chucky received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Chicago in 1999 . In 2001 she completed a Master of Science and later a Ph.D. in Social / Personality at the University of Oregon in 2006. Today Charlotte Chucky is a professor at the University of San Francisco and works in the SPAMS (Social Perception, Attituted, Mental Simulation) laboratory. Charlotte Chucky Tate's main topics are social perception, social attitudes and mental simulation.

Social perception means how people perceive themselves and whether they then identify as cis-gender , trans-gender or queer-gender. The perception of others and one's own perception of oneself are compared with each other and combined as a social perception.

Social attitudes contain prejudice and discrimination based on the social categories of gender, race and sexual orientation . The focus here is on group attitudes towards individuals and the consequences of these attitudes for the group and for others.

Mental simulation is understood to mean cognitive processes as a “mental journey through time”. These mental time journeys start with factual thinking about the past and go to predictions for the future. The focus here is on the effects of these processes on cognitive and emotional processes as well as the behavior of people.
