The Montres Charmex SA is a watch manufacturer in Liestal, Switzerland , founded in 1926 by Max Bürgin with the principle of "My Buyers should get only the best for their money." Max Bürgin invested a great deal in technology and qualified watchmakers in order to increase quality and develop the classic Charmex design. Under the direction of his son Manfred Bürgin, the model range was expanded and the name Charmex - of Switzerland - was introduced. In 1992, another brand followed, Swiss-Military, with which Charmex established a further field of activity as a manufacturer of Swiss army watches.

The company's motto has not changed to this day. In the third generation with Frank M. Bürgin, automatic watches with COSC certification are now being manufactured. And with the world record watch "12'000 Feet" from Swiss-Military, which set the depth record for series-produced diving watches in 2005, Charmex can now also be found in the Guinness Book of Records .

This record was repeated again in 2009 when Charmex presented the "20,000 Feet" at Baselworld : the mechanical chronograph in a titanium case withstands a depth of over 6,000 meters. To date, there is no other mass-produced mechanical three-hand watch (let alone a mechanical chronograph) that can withstand this pressure without damage.
