The Charsadda District is an administrative district in Pakistan in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province . The seat of the district administration is the city of the same name Charsadda .
The district has an area of 996 km² and according to the 2017 census 1,627,132 inhabitants. The population density is 1643 inhabitants / km².

The district is located in the center of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, which is in the north of Pakistan.
Demographics
Between 1998 and 2017 the population grew by 2.44% annually. Around 17% of the population live in urban regions and around 83% in rural regions. 820,520 men, 795,657 women and 21 transgender people live in 221,058 households , resulting in a gender ratio of 103.1 men per 100 women, which is a common surplus for Pakistan.
The literacy rate in the years 2014/15 among the population over 10 years of age was 50% (women: 30%, men: 71%) and thus slightly below the average for the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa of 53%.
