The Warburg chat tower

The Chattenturm is part of the medieval city fortifications of the old town of Warburg, first mentioned around 1226 .

The still existing city tower was named after the Chatten tribe, as you can see Hesse from it. It lies at the upper end of the running, western city wall, which runs straight up the castle hill , and was used to secure it. It has a round floor plan and was probably built in the 14th century. The formerly conical roof no longer exists.

The Chattenturm has been accessible via a viewing platform ( Diemel Skywalk ) since October 2016 .
