Cheat eye

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Cheat-Eye is an anti-cheat tool . In the leagues Electronic Sports League , ClanBase and "Bunny Hunters Tournament Page", use is mandatory.

functionality

The Cheat-Eye-Client checks the game-relevant files, processes and the main memory for signatures and checksums of cheats like a virus scanner . If a cheat is discovered, a stream is sent to the Cheat-Eye master server and the Cheat-Eye protected game server and the Cheat-Eye client closes itself. In addition, screenshots with time stamps are taken at irregular intervals during the game . At the end of the game, an "alibi file" is generated from this and transferred to the server.

A cheater can thus not only be exposed using conspicuous screenshots , but also using an incomplete alibi file. In addition to these functions, the client checks whether a player has already been identified as a cheater and is on the “cheater list” maintained by the server. In this case, the client can no longer be started.

Every client has a hardware- related "Cheat-Eye-ID", by which every player can be clearly identified.

The Cheat-Eye-Server continuously checks whether every connected player has started the client. If not, it will be thrown from the game server. The server can be configured remotely.

The Cheat-Eye master server evaluates the incoming data and places potential cheaters on the cheater list.

Both the client and the server have an automatic update function.

criticism

Cheat-Eye needs an open port in the router . In principle, this is an attack possibility for hackers .

The data transmitted by the master server is encrypted and does not contain any personal information, but the user cannot verify the correct use of the data.
