Chief of Army Armaments and Commander of the Replacement Army
Chief of Army Armament and Commander of the Reserve Army (short: Chief H Rüst u BdE ) was an agency of the German Wehrmacht . She was directly subordinate to the Army High Command (OKH).

In addition to the staff and various weapons inspectors of the troops, such as the inspector of the armored forces , the service essentially comprised the General Army Office (AHA), the Army Weapons Office (HWA) and the Army Administration Office (HVA). Another essential task was the leadership of the reserve army .
history
On August 26, 1939, General Joachim von Stülpnagel became the boss, but only stayed there for a few days because he had described Hitler's war policy as a catastrophe. On August 31, 1939, just before the German invasion of Poland , which triggered World War II , General Friedrich Fromm (picture) was appointed as the new commander of the reserve army and chief of armaments. He remained so until 20 July 1944 when he connected with that of Claus von Stauffenberg perpetrated coup attempt was arrested. The next day, July 21, 1944, Reichsführer SS Heinrich Himmler became the new Chief of Army Armaments and Commander of the Replacement Army and remained so until April 1945. From January 7, 1945, instead of “Commander”, the term “Commander in Chief” was used.
