Alignement Chemin des Collines

The west-east-oriented alignment Chemin des Collines is roughly a double row of stones , consisting of 13 menhirs . Today it stands offset on a meadow next to the street of the same name in Sion in the canton of Valais in Switzerland .

Six of the menhirs (nos. 4-9) are provided with anthropomorphic and geometric rock carvings and bowls . The alignment probably comes from the Middle Neolithic .

context

In addition to 15 individual standing menhirs with a height of 2–4 m, which are primarily located in the Jura lakes, there are three large alignments, so that around 100 menhirs and statue menhirs are known in Switzerland .
