Chen Jicheng

Chen Jicheng ( Chinese  陳 済 成 , Pinyin Chén Jìchéng , W.-G. Ch'en Chi-ch'eng ; * 1896 in Jiading ; † after August 1945) was a Chinese politician and diplomat , an important figure in the national government in Nanjing .

Career

After the outbreak of the Second Sino-Japanese War , Chen Jicheng joined the followers of Wang Jingweis . There he became chairman of the public department of the Guomindang Central Committee .

When the National Government was established in Nanjing in March 1940, Chen Jicheng was a member of the Committee on Foreign Party Affairs. He was also a member of the Overseas Chinese Committee . In March 1943, Chen Jicheng joined the Borderlands Committee . In January 1943 he became a member of the government, the next month the ambassador of the national government in the Empire of Manshu and took this position.

After the collapse of the Nanjing National Government in August 1945, Chen Jicheng was arrested and taken to Tilanqiao Prison in Shanghai . Nothing is known about his later whereabouts and the year of his death.
