Chen Jingyuan

Chen Jingyuan ( Chinese  陳景 元  /  陈景 元 , Pinyin Chén Jǐngyuán , W.-G. Ch'en Ching-yüan ; * approx. 1024; † 1094 , zi: Taichu 太初, hao: Bixuzi 碧 虚 子, also: Chen Bixu陈 碧 虚) was a Chinese Daoist and scholar from the Northern Song Dynasty. He is from Jiangxi . Today, Chen is best known for his critical comments on the text of the work Zhuangzi ( Zhuangzi quewu庄子 阙 误, in the appendix to the work Nanhua zhenjing zhangju yinyi ), in which he lists text variants from lost editions of the Tang and Song period. Most of his works are contained in the Daoist canon ( Daozang ) and have been reprinted in editions like the Hanfenlou涵 芬 楼.
