Cheras is a suburb of Kuala Lumpur that stretches to Kajang in the Malaysian state of Selangor . It is home to a large number of housing developments and shopping centers and is well connected by highways and trunk roads.

Cheras is one of the six subdistricts ( mukim ) of Hulu Langat under the administration of Majlis Perbandaran Kajang ( Kajang Town Council ). In a census in 2000, a total population of 163,550 in an area of ​​59.31 km ^{2 was} determined. This makes Cheras the most densely populated of these subdistricts.

Culture

Cheras is also home to the Masterskill College of Nursing and Health , one of the largest nursing and healthcare educational institutions in the Asia-Pacific region.
