Chern medal
The Chern Medal ( English Chern Medal Award ) is a mathematics award that has been awarded every four years since 2010 at the International Mathematical Congresses by the International Mathematical Union and the Chern Medal Foundation . It is awarded for an outstanding life's work and is endowed with $ 250,000, plus another $ 250,000 in institutions for the promotion of mathematics that the winner can determine. The award is named after Shiing-Shen Chern .
It is not to be confused with the Chern price .
