Chiara Marchitelli (born May 4, 1985 ) is an Italian soccer player . The goalkeeper took part with the Italian women's national team in the European Women's Championship finals in 2005 and 2013 .

Athletic career

Marchitelli began her high-class career with the women of Lazio Rome . In 2004 she moved to Atletico Oristano , but moved on to ASD Fiammamonza after only one season . With the club she won the national championship in 2006. In 2008 she returned to Rome and joined GS Rome . After a year she moved to UPC Tavagnacco , where she won the national cup in 2013. In the same year she left the club, the new club was ACF Brescia . In 2014 she celebrated her second championship title here.

Marchitelli went through various junior selections in Italy before she also made her debut in the senior national team. In 2005 she was part of the squad at the European Championship finals, but was only a substitute behind Carla Brunozzi . In 2013 she was part of the final team again under national coach Antonio Cabrini , at the tournament she played all four final round games until the team was eliminated in the quarter-finals against Germany . After the tournament, a duel for the position in the Italian goal developed with the young goalkeeper Laura Giuliani, who played in Germany , which the competitor temporarily won.
