Chiara Strazzulla

Chiara Strazzulla (born July 15, 1990 in Augusta , Sicily ) is an Italian writer . She became known through her fantasy novel Dardamen - Companions of Darkness (Italian original title: Gli eroi del crepuscolo ).

Chiara Strazzulla was born in Sicily and grew up in Ciampino near Rome . At thirteen she had the first ideas for this fantasy saga, with fifteen she began to write the story in the "Lord of the Rings-style" and ended a year later to work on the novel 2008 by the publishing house Einaudi published has been. This caused a sensation in Italian feature pages, as Einaudi had not published a fantasy novel until then. A year later, her second novel La strada che scende nell'ombra was published , also by Einaudi.

Strazzulla is currently studying literature at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa and is writing her third novel.

While still at school, her story Storia di una notte di metà autunno was awarded in 2007 at the GAS al minimo competition at the Fantasio Festival in Perugia .
