Chief Learning Officer
The Chief Learning Officer ( CLO ) is a designation for executives based on the so-called CxO system , which comes from the English-speaking area, but is increasingly becoming established internationally. This title is usually held by the heads of personnel development departments or in-house educational institutions such as company colleges, academies or corporate universities . It should achieve the full potential of the employees. He is also responsible for the company's knowledge management across all hierarchies as well as for personnel development and executive coaching. The Haufe group awards an annual award Chief Learning Officer .
The acronym "CLO" is not unique, it is also used for Chief Law Officer or Chief Legal Officer (head of the legal department) or Chief Logistic Officer. In the US, CLO is an existing term for Chief Listening Officer , a coordinating body in companies that is responsible for social media activities.
