Chigiriki

Chigiriki is a Japanese weapon that was used by ninjas . Weapons of this type have a rod, at the end of which a chain is attached. At the end of the chain there is again an impact body that can be spherical, egg-shaped, cylindrical or consist of transitions of the aforementioned shapes. There are variants in which the impact body is covered with thorns or spikes. The weapon can be used to disarm opponents or inflict injuries on them. Little is known about the origin of the weapon. There is evidence that the weapon can be traced back to Chinese influences in the 8th century. It is mentioned in writing for Japan in the Heian period (794–1185). The use in "chigiriki-jutsu" was documented in the sixteenth century.
