The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is a children's hospital in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania , whose main campus is located near the campus of the University of Pennsylvania. It is one of the largest and oldest children's hospitals in the world and the first hospital in the United States to be dedicated to the treatment of children. CHOP has been named one of the best children's hospitals in the United States by the US News & World Report and Parents Magazine in recent years . The hospital is adjacent to the University of Pennsylvania and serves as the pediatric department of the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania .
