China International Marine Containers ( CIMC for short ) is a Chinese company based in Shenzhen .

The company, founded in 1980, has specialized primarily in the production of containers and trailers and is the global market leader in both areas. In 2010, it made 3.68 billion yuan in profit on sales of 51.77 billion yuan and is mainly controlled by the Chinese shipping company Cosco and the Chinese logistics provider CMHI .

In 2007, CIMC took over the Dutch commercial vehicle manufacturer Burg . Its production facility was briefly relocated from Pijnacker to Günzburg in Germany under the brand name Silvergreen , but has been operated permanently in Gdynia in Poland since 2015 , while the Europe-wide administration is located in Illertissen .

In 2012, CIMC also took over the German brewery equipment manufacturer Ziemann from its planned insolvency. In the following year, the insolvent German fire equipment supplier Ziegler was taken over .
