China Marines

As China Marines ones were United States Marines which have in the 4th US Marine Regiment , which in Shanghai ( China , had served was stationed) 1927-1941. The U.S. 4th Marine Regiment was deployed to protect U.S. citizens and property during the Chinese Civil War and the Second Sino-Japanese War . Perhaps the best known of these China Marines were Lieutenant General Lewis B. Puller , Major General William H. Rupertus , author of Rifleman's Creed , and Clifton Cates .

Because of the cheap labor, the China Marines lived relatively comfortably, as every train could afford Chinese who did many things of everyday life, such as running errands or washing clothes.

Due to the significant expansion of the US Marine Corps during World War II and the conquest of Corregidor by the Japanese , where the 4th US Marine Regiment was stationed, the China Marines became highly regarded exotic species in the Corps.
