The original family-run Chinachem Chemical Agricultural Sector was founded by Wang Din Sin ( 王廷歆 , Wáng Tíngxīn , Jyutping Wong 4 Ting 4 jam 1 ) and his family in Hong Kong in the early 20th century. In the 1960s, his son Teddy Wang ( 王德輝  /  王德辉 ) and his wife Nina Wang ( 王 龔 如 心 ) gradually switched the company from the chemical to the construction and real estate sectors . Teddy Wang was kidnapped in 1990 and disappeared without a trace. His wife Nina Wang took over the management of the company from that time on and turned it into a thriving real estate investor and location developer, whose earnings made Nina Wang the richest woman in Asia during her lifetime. The Chinachem Group has built over 300 skyscrapers in Hong Kong, the most famous of which is the Nina Towers complex named after it .
