The Chipping Norton Lake is an artificial lake in the eastern Australian state of New South Wales . It is located in the south-west of Sydney at a bend in the Georges River .

The lake was created in the 20th century through the mining of sand and sandstone. The quarries later filled with water and are now used for water sports. Motor boats are permitted, but their speed is limited to 8 knots.

The lake has three large pools and is surrounded by an amusement park with bike paths, playgrounds, boat ramps and sports fields. The Georges River Environment Education Center is also located there. In Chipping Norton Recreation Center a town hall - The Lakes Boatshed called - integrated, which can be rented for private parties.

The Prospect Creek , tributary of the Georges River, flows not directly in these, but in the Chipping Norton Lake.
