Khnumhotep I.

Khnumhotep I was a local prince in ancient Egypt who reigned in the Saber Antelope Gau at the beginning of the 12th Dynasty . He is best known from his grave in Beni Hasan (BH 14), which has a longer biographical inscription. The paintings in the cult chamber of the grave are otherwise not well preserved. Khnumhotep I. was the great head of the saber antelope , which is the title of Gau prince . He was also the mayor of Menat-Chufu and head of the eastern desert . The biographical inscription in his tomb tells how he met Amenemhet I.went on a campaign and was then appointed mayor of Menat-Chufu by the ruler .
