Christ und Sozialist , or CuS for short , is the magazine of the Association of Religious Socialists in Germany . The current title is Christian and Socialist. Kreuz und Rose (sheets of the Association of Religious Socialists in Germany) . CuS is a quarterly magazine and, in terms of content, the only magazine in Germany that has the words Christianity and Socialism together in the title and shows symbols of Christianity and socialism at the same time.

history

Christ und Sozialist has been published since 1948. The predecessor in terms of content is the Sunday paper of the working people , which appeared from 1924 to 1930 . The Religious Socialist was published from 1930 until the ban by Hitler's fascism in 1933 . The Red Sheet of the Catholic Socialists appeared at the same time from 1929 to 1930, and the magazine for religion and socialism from 1929 to 1933.

content

CuS seeks answers from a Christian point of view to current questions of society and advocates interreligious dialogue, especially with Judaism and Islam .

organization

CuS is supported by a small editorial team which, according to its own statements, ensures that “biblical, theological impulses prevail, such as taking sides for the poor, oppressed and marginalized, preserving the endangered creation, changing society.” CuS does not receive any Support from political parties, churches or government agencies and is financed from subscription income, free sales and donations. The authors and editors work on a voluntary basis.

CuS cooperated with Neue Wegen , Switzerland, from May 2005 to April 2006 , and had a circulation of 2500 copies. Since the summer of 2006, the magazine had to reduce its circulation to 500 copies for financial reasons. CuS has been published again in Germany since August 2006 and is currently around 70 pages long.
