The Christelijk Nationaal Vakverbond (CNV) is a trade union confederation in the Netherlands . He was taken under the pillarisation traditionally Protestant dominated -reformiert, where he nowadays more ecumenically oriented. In Belgium there is the Algemeen Christelijk Vakverbond , which however is not connected to the CNV. In the 1970s, the CNV took part in talks about a merger with the other trade unions NKV ( Catholic ) and NVV ( socialist ), but then decided to maintain its independence. The merger between the other two unions came about in 1976 under the name FNV .

The CNV is a member of the International Trade Union Confederation and the European Trade Union Confederation . In the membership list of the IGB, membership is given as 268,000 (as of November 2017).
