Christer Gardell

Christer Gardell (born 1960 ) is a Swedish hedge fund manager . Gardell studied economics at Stockholm Business School and graduated in 1984. Gardell worked at McKinsey & Company and was CEO of Swedish investment firm AB Custos from 1996 to 2001 . In 2002 he founded the investment company Cevian Amaranth Capital together with Lars Förberg, which changed its name to Cevian Capital in 2003 . The company pursues an active investor strategy in its investments .

In 2006, Cevian launched the Cevian Capital II fund. It is the largest activist investment fund in Europe and managed more than 10 billion euros in April 2017. This fund holds large stakes in several companies on the Stockholm Stock Exchange , including Volvo . Previous investments were Lindex , Skandia and Telia Company .

Gardell was named in the Paradise Papers in 2017 .
