Christian Blome

Christian Blome , (born May 6, 1861 in Bremen ; † August 7, 1949 in Bremen) was a German tobacco worker, trade unionist and politician ( SPD ).

biography

Blome attended elementary school. He learned the trade of a tobacco worker. From the 1890s to 1907 he worked as an independent cigar manufacturer in Bremen.

From 1885 he was a functionary of the tobacco workers' association and in the 1890s chairman of the union branch in Bremen. From 1908 to 1929 he was an employee of the tobacco workers' association in Bremen. In 1914 he worked as a board member of the union cartel.

He was also chairman of the Society of the Union House and chairman of the board of directors of the consumer association.

politics

Blome was a member of the SPD and from 1892 to 1894 district leader of the SPD in the southern suburb of Bremen- Neustadt . At the time of the Socialist Act of 1878, he was sentenced to several prison terms. From 1896 to 1918 he was a member of the Bremen citizenship . In 1919/20 he was elected to the Bremen National Assembly.
