Christian David (artist)
Christian David (* in Vienna ) is an artist and author.
Life
David studied in Milan and Vienna. He did his doctorate with a thesis on the German actor Klaus Kinski . In 2006 he published a biography of Kinski in the Aufbau-Verlag . His first novel, Mädchenauge ( Deuticke Verlag ), was published in 2013 and was nominated for the Leo Perutz Prize in the same year . His second novel Sonnenbraut followed in 2015 , again for Deuticke and also nominated for the Leo Perutz Prize. In May 2016 Carl Hanser Verlag published the essay Pop macht Angst on the subject of pop culture . David also works for film and theater, writes film reviews and catalog articles (e.g. for the Wien Modern festival ).
