Christian Gaab
Christian Gaab (born October 26, 1828 , † December 17, 1901 in Wiesbaden ) was a German carpenter.
Gaab came to Wiesbaden as a journeyman. He settled here permanently and went into business for himself after taking his master craftsman examination.
In addition to his professional activity, he was sustainably committed to the community of the city. He was a member of the Wiesbaden municipal council . At his instigation, the trade association and a short time later the trade school was founded. In 1846 he was one of the founders of the men's gymnastics club in Wiesbaden and four years later of the volunteer fire department .
The city of Wiesbaden recognized his services in 1896 with the award of honorary citizenship . After his death, a street was named after him in the northwest of the city around 1910. In addition, a plaque on the building of the former trade school reminds of its founder.
