Christian Knoop (born April 22, 1961 ) is a former German football player who was active in 1989 for the BSG Stahl Brandenburg in the GDR Oberliga .

Athletic career

Knoop started with organized football at the age of eleven at BSG Stahl Brandenburg. After he had gone through all the youth teams, he played most of the time with the 2nd team of BSG Stahl in the third-class Potsdam district league . In the 1983/84 season, the first team was the relay winner in the second-rate GDR league and rose to the league after winning the promotion round. Knoop was involved in this with three stakes and one goal. In the official line-up for the league season 1984/85 Knoop was reported as a defender, but was not used. In the seasons 1985/86 to 1988/89 he was back in the squad of the 2nd team. Only in the second half of the 1988/89 season coach Peter Kohl brought himback to the league team after several regular players were canceled. Between the 17th and 26th matchday, Kohl used Knoop as a defender in six games, with Knoop starting four times. Although he was called back in the official league squad for the 1989/90 season, Knoop was again disregarded. Even later, he no longer appeared in higher-class football.
