Christian Pömer (born September 21, 1977 in Linz ) is an Austrian sports manager and former cyclist .

Life

Pömer began his cycling career at the age of twelve. As early as 1993, the Trauner was able to represent his home country for the first time at the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in the Netherlands.

In 2000 Pömer started as a pilot driver with the Linz blind athlete Franz Engleder in the tandem race of the Paralympics in Sydney . There the duo finished 11th.

Before Pömer drove for the first time for a UCI Professional Continental Team at Team Volksbank in 2007 , he was able to gain his first international experience with the Austrian national team as well as in Austrian GS3 and Continental teams . For example, Pömer represented his home country on the 2001 Tour of Austria as a national team driver. Pömer ended his career as an active cyclist after the 2007 season at the age of 30.

After his time as a professional cyclist, Pömer graduated as a sports manager and switched to the private sector.

In 2011 Pömer returned to cycling, initially as press spokesman and later as general manager of the Gourmetfein Simplon team. In the second half of the 2013 season, Christian Pömer became the sporting director and logistics manager for the German professional Continental Team NetApp-Endura .
