Christian Vetsch (born October 20, 1912 in Grabs ; † August 16, 1996 in Altstätten ) was a Swiss painter and representative of Appenzell peasant painting .

Vetsch spent his childhood years in Grabs. Later he worked as a day laborer and servant and lived with his wife in Altstätten. The marriage remained childless. Vetsch is one of the best known representatives of rural painting in Switzerland. He painted mostly in oils and very naturalistically.
