Christina Kitsos

Christina Kitsos (born February 5, 1981 in La Chaux-de-Fonds ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ). She has been a member of Geneva City Council since June 1, 2020.

Life

Christina Kitso's parents came to Switzerland in 1972 at the time of the military dictatorship in Greece and in 1986 they took Swiss citizenship together with their children . Christina Kitsos also trained as an actress and athlete during her school days. She played at the Théâtre populaire romand and at the Théâtre du Pommier in Neuchâtel. She studied French language, philosophy, communication science and journalism at the University of Neuchâtel , modern languages at the University of Sorbonne in Paris and completed a Master of Business Administration at the University of Geneva . She taught French and philosophy in Neuchâtel and founded her own communications office in 2006. From 2009 she was the communications officer for the education department of the canton of Geneva.

Her political activity began in 1994 in the youth parliament of the city of La Chaux-de-Fonds and continued when she became assistant to the Neuchâtel National and Government Councilor Didier Berberat . Kitsos has been a member of the SP since 2004. In 2005 she was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Neuchâtel , in 2015 to the Municipal Council of the City of Geneva and on April 5, 2020 in the second ballot to the Conseil administratif, the City Council of Geneva.
