Christoph Andree
Christoph Andree (born January 21, 1965 in Cologne ) is a German doctor for plastic surgery and hand surgery . He is the Medical Director of the Sana Kliniken Düsseldorf and chief physician at the Clinic for Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery at the Sana Klinik Düsseldorf at the Gerresheim and Benrath locations. The Sana Klinikum Gerresheim is an academic teaching hospital of the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf.
Life
Christoph Andree, son of the anesthetist Gerhard Andree, is married, has a daughter and a son and lives with his family in Ratingen near Düsseldorf. He graduated from Marienfeld Primary School in Duisburg and in 1984 obtained the general university entrance qualification at the Albert Einstein Gymnasium in Duisburg.
Professional background
He began studying chemistry in 1985 at the Alberts Magnus University in Cologne and in 1986 he switched to the University of Hamburg to study human medicine , which he graduated from the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn in 1992 with the 3rd state examination. After completing his PhD thesis on autologous, in-vitro cultured human skin grafts-comparative studies on the graft behavior of combined and cultured epidermal skin grafts on athymic nude mice at the Regional Burn Center of the University of California San Diego in 1994, he received a DFG scholarship in the Wound in 1994 Healing Laboratory of the Plastic Surgery Department at Brigham & Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School , Boston.
In January 1995 he began his clinical work as an assistant doctor in the Department of Plastic and Hand Surgery at the Surgical University Clinic in Freiburg . In the same year Christoph Andree was awarded the Ferdinand Sauerbruch Research Prize for his research work at Harvard Medical School in Boston .
A grant from the German Research Foundation enabled him to set up the department's cell and molecular biological laboratory together with his colleagues. In December 1997, he was appointed head of genetic engineering work at security levels 1 and 2. Andree has been a specialist in plastic surgery since September 1999 . In addition to the entire spectrum of plastic surgery , in addition to facial reconstructive surgery, a focus of his clinical work was reconstructive and aesthetic breast surgery. By establishing, co-founding and since July the university breast center certified according to ISO 9001: 2000-DKG / DGS in cooperation with the university women's clinic, the department for radiation therapy, oncology, radiology and pathology, the reconstructive breast surgery of the university clinic Freiburg was under his responsibility. In October 2003 he was awarded the Venia Legendi by the High Faculty of the University of Freiburg in the field of plastic surgery . On January 1, 2003, Andree became Chief Medical Officer and Deputy Medical Director. After Andree received the additional title of hand surgeon in November 2003 , he also expanded his clinical spectrum to include the entire spectrum of hand surgery.
In 2004 he was appointed chief physician of the newly established Clinic for Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery in the Interdisciplinary Breast Center at the State Clinics in Düsseldorf, Gerresheim Hospital, now the Sana Clinic in Düsseldorf-Gerresheim. On July 1, 2011, he was appointed Medical Director of the Sana Clinics in Düsseldorf. In September 2012 Christoph Andree was awarded the title of extraordinary professor at the University of Freiburg. On January 1, 2015, Christoph Andree opened a private practice in Düsseldorf.
Awards
Andree has been on the Focus list of top doctors since 2013. In 1996 he received the Ferdinand Sauerbruch Research Prize .
