The Schlifar Museum in the Heimathaus recalls the centuries of whetstone production in Schwarzach. The word "Schlifar" comes from "to grind" and refers to the production of the whetstones, which were ground to their typical final shape with quartz sand . A model by Elmar Dobler ( Blons ) using a sharpening compass for whetstone production shows how this shaping was carried out efficiently.

The Wetzstein-Hansel ("guys") above the village fountain in the center of Schwarzach is also reminiscent of the "Schlifar" (grinders).
