Christoph Brockmann

Christoph Brockmann (born March 16, 1878 near Schneverdingen , † October 14, 1962 ) was a German diatom researcher. His botanical author abbreviation is " C.Brockmann ".

Life

Brockmann was a teacher at the market school in Lehe (Bremerhaven) from 1904 to 1937 . He was internationally known for his research on diatoms and plankton and was a volunteer at the Prussian State Geological Institute.

In 1950 he received an honorary doctorate from the University of Kiel . He was one of the founders of the Working Group of North German Geologists.
