Christoph Budde (born February 11, 1963 in Erkelenz ; † November 30, 2009 in Mönchengladbach ) was a German football player .

Career

Budde started his career at SC 09 Erkelenz and rose with him from the district class to the state league. From 1985 to 1990 he played 42 Bundesliga games for Borussia Mönchengladbach , in which he scored four goals. He was also used in the UEFA Cup against Lech Posen . After moving to Preussen Krefeld , he returned to his home club after a few more positions. From 1993 Budde was also active in the Weisweiler -Elf , the traditional team of Borussia Mönchengladbach, in 2002 he took over the management of the team.

At the end of November 2009 he was hospitalized with an acute infection with the H1N1 virus and died on the night of December 1, 2009 of pneumonia.
